Biography

Senator Mike Michot is a small businessman, with ten years of legislative experience. Since 1987, Mike has served as Chairman of Premier Medical Equipment, a small business he runs with his wife, Monique.

He also serves as Chairman of Louis J. Michot & Associates, a real estate management & development firm.

Mike was elected to the Louisiana House of Representatives in 1995, and to the Louisiana Senate in 1999. He is eligible to serve in the Senate until January of 2012.

Although Mike is planning to run for re-election to the Senate for the 23rd District, in October 2007, he is also seriously considering the possibility of becoming a candidate for Louisiana Secretary of State in the election to be held in September of 2006.

He expects to announce his plans early this year.
